The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to physical objects equipped with software, sensors, processing abilities, and other technologies. They communicate and share data with other systems and devices through the Internet or other communication networks. IoT has a wide variety of practical applications, ranging from business IoT and consumer IoT to industrial and manufacturing IoT. 5G wireless networks can be utilized to connect a large number of IoT devices and meet their high communication requirements, even when the objects are in motion. 5G has three features that are helpful for supporting specific components of IoT, which include ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), and massive machine type communications (mMTC). This book elucidates the concepts and innovative models around prospective developments with respect to Internet of things and sensor networks in 5G wireless communications. It will provide interesting topics for research, which interested readers can take up.
